The symposium is open to anyone interested in attending, but specifically targets clinicians, researchers and allied health professionals (i.e., social workers, nutritionists, dieticians) in the fields of kidney, liver and heart transplantation and obesity as well as patients with obesity awaiting solid organ transplantation and patients' families and care partners. Members of the general public who are interested in learning more about strategies for pre-transplant weight management are also welcome to attend.
The symposium is offered free of charge. Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Education Units (up to 6) are currently pending for transplant surgeons, nephrologists, nurses, and nurse coordinators as well as social workers and dieticians.
The deadline to register is Friday May 17, 2024.
Yes. The meeting is hybrid, offering opportunities for both in-person and virtual attendance.

You can earn up to 6.25 CEU/CMEs for attending the symposium either in-person or virtually, or watching the videos on the "Recordings" page, and completing the National Kidney Foundation's evaluation, found on the "Evaluation & CEU/CMEs" page of this site. You must complete the evaluation by August 30, 2024, to earn the credits.
